After 12 years, the rivalry between the two most decorated Olympic male swimmers of all time, Michael Phelps and Ryan Lochte, came to end during the 200m individual medley in Rio. Sure, going into the race on Thursday night Phelps had the upper hand—21 gold medals to Lochte’s six, and more wins in their head-to-head matches—but Lochte has out-swam Phelps several times before, and he’s looking good, feeling good with the hair to match the Olympic’s green pool. But Phelps had a reason to be smiling during their last Olympic pre-swim spaghetti dinner together:

Yep, Phelps won by a mile. He is now the owner of a 22nd gold medal, while Lochte came in fifth. This marks Phelps’s fourth consecutive win at the Olympics in just as many races. He has two more events in Rio, and you better believe he’s hoping to make a double hat trick.
